Gauge upgrade question

So had this built for me years ago by a board member, sorry name is long forgotten. It's got some shelf wear from being shuffled around but still really nice. What would I need to add a tach to it? I think I've seen someone reproduces them, do they make harnesses too? Will I need new circuit? And lastly my lettering/numbers lines are green, is this going to mess up the matching?

Sweet, pics are upside down. Posted pics from my phone earlier with no probs, oh well

Check out Brothers Trucks or LMC. They offer tach conversion kits.

Re: Gauge upgrade question

Odds are that you got that from 70shortfleet (Les). He also modifies inner and back tins to accommodate a tach. You'd need to supply the tach, buy a printed circuit, tach harness and new lens. You'd also need to drill the lens for your clock and remove the painted design on the lens where your clock resides.I believe board member RogerKoop sells tach harnesses.

Here's the one built using a factory tach and reproduction lens (didn't want to modify the original tach lens).

Re: Gauge upgrade question

Its possible I got it from him. But I have had it a very long time and he's only been a member since 2010. But the fact he puts a clock in might make it so. I remember I wanted a clock, but no tach back then because I was going to mount a tach in a chrome cup mounted to the column. I'm not sure why I would have gone with the green numbers and letters though.

Sounds like it is going to be more work and more money than I want to spend on it the more read what you guys are saying. I thought I would toss it in my K20 when I pull the one in it now to check the speedo (needle is bouncing like crazy) and clean and lube the cable.
