Which aftermarket gas pedal?

Just wanted to see which pedal works best in one of our 55-59 trucks. These are the 3 different styles I've seen and they all mount differently. Which one works best in our trucks?

The last one is specifically for 55-57 cars. I have one in my '55 Belair.

I have the second one in my '57 pickup. It works perfectly and the position is very comfortable. The install is kind of a pain though.

Thank you for your response. What was a pain about the install? Would you go with that pedal again? It is definitely the one I'm leaning toward.

Used the same one on my 55. Works well and doesn't take too much space. The pain, to me, is the bracket being on one side of the firewall and the pedal on the other. Arms don't reach that long!!! My fix was to bolt the bracket to the floor without the pedal, drill a hole through the floor and bracket on the center of each side, remove the bracket and install nutserts and use two 10x24 pan head screws to mount the bracket to the floor independent of the pedal. I relieved the bottom of the pedal bracket some so it would sit over the screw heads, but on some the carpet might take care of that. All that didn't make the install easier the first time but it SURE made it easier the multiple times I've taken it out since for different mods to the truck.

i have a spoon style pedal in my buick. pretty simple install, but the arm is pretty short. i am going to lengthen the pedal arm to get it closer to the floorboard so my wife's shorter feet can rest on the floor and still reach the throttle pedal. if you go with that, pay close attention to the height you mount the pivot at.

HCC, hope you don't mind I jump in as well - I've seen a lot of our TF's with the first style and have been leaning that direction on mine. Guys, what's the feedback on that one? Space/comfort issue?

No question in my mind, number two. As mentioned, a little trouble to install by yourself, and more difficult if the engine and transmission is in the truck, but worth the effort. I mounted an original style pedal on mine to retain the stock look.

Feel free man. This is what the forum is for. I will be going with pedal design number 2. It seems to be the cleanest install and looks like it is pretty comfortable. Thank you for all the help and pictures guys.

I have pedal #1. It works great in the shop. Haven't had it out on the road yet but it fits nice with my setup and was pretty easy to install.

Do you know how to weld? I used the 1st one but before mounting I made a stand that the pedal mounted to. Basically, I took a piece of steel plate bent it so it was about 1/2" tall with sides I could weld to the firewall. I did this so i didnt have to drill holes in my firewall, (it's completely flat). But of course, you have to know where the gas cable comes thru your firewall. If you need pics PM me. If you can weld, it's very simple.

I have expressed my preference in a previous comment but forgot to mention one advantage to using the number two version. With the other two the cable comes through the firewall near the carburetor and this makes for a short cable which can be difficult to work with. With the floor mounted pedal the cable mounts to the pedal arm behind the engine and makes it easy to route the cable with no hard bends in it.
Just thought I'd throw this out as my truck had one of the other kind in it when I got it and I didn't like the feel of it. My truck has a 350 in the stock location which puts the carburetor fairly close to the firewall. Just trying to help out.
