Door Panel idea

I seen in the $50 budget thread where someone painted their door panels with bed liner, I think it was Rustoleum. I was going to dye mine, they are in decent shape but they are worn smooth in places, like on top. Could I go over them with say gray bed liner and then shoot them in the blue dye? Just thinking that would make them more uniform all over. I really liked the looks of theirs, I just need blue color. Didn't know if I'd have some kinda reaction or not.

Here's a set I've done recently with SEM texture spray and SEM dye. Just strip any old dye off, clean 2-3 times, then 2-3 more times, dry overnight and then your ready. I did 3-4 coats of texture spray in opposite directions, then 5-6 coats of dye. Here's a before and after. I hope this helps and its cheaper than $50.

Re: Door Panel idea

They look real good. Where did you get the pouches with the flip latch or whatever it's called?

The flip cover pouches come off of Suburbans. I had a gray set, I was hoping to use, but they color of grey was too light.

You still got them? My truck had them, well it still has 1 but it's shot. It also had the carpet panels below the dr panels. I want to get them later.

No, I sold them on EBay. That's where I got them at. I thought about dyeing them, but I wasn't sure if they would turn out. After seeing the earlier post, I wish I had at the least tried.
