Like Mattchu60 said, the pillar/headliner trim probably isn't particularly rare. Although it is getting harder to find good pieces that aren't broken or damaged from years of sun exposure.

As for the ETR radio, it should have a couple of wires (orange & brown) with their own plug that is separate from the rest of the radio wiring. The orange wire is a constant battery feed and if you don't have it hooked up to +12V the radio won't work correctly. Maybe you already knew that but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Also, it's not uncommon for these radios to suffer from bad solder joints. If you find one in an obvious location (like on the power/ground connector socket assembly) and are handy with a soldering iron, you might be able to repair it yourself.

I don't know how they are in terms of pricing, but Tran Sam Radio (www.transamradio.com) specializes in repairing the 2700 series ETR radios.
