Defrost/Heater Shortening out

It's raining in so-Cal.
Was driving with the Deforster on, out of no where it stops working. Checked the fuse and the 10amp fuse is blown out. Pop a new one in, blows out again. WTF!!
Anyways does anyone know what could be shortening out my heater/Deforst Air? I have the very basic heater, I think it's a reticulating heater

Mine was doing the same thing, ended up replacing the blower motor.

Mine did this as well, I think because the heater core leaked coolant onto the blower motor. See if you have a leaking core, replace if needed, and buy a new blower motor.

Could be the wire to. If there's a crack in the insulation somewhere it could be rubbing against bare metal and shorting out.

TJ could be onto something there, definitely dont rule that out. I replaced my blower motor convinced it would solve the issue with the fuse blowing. I still have the same issue after replacing the blower motor.

There can always be an issue with the other electrical components, i.e. the fan switch, or even the fan speed resistor. If i get mine figured out I will be sure to update you guys.

Same thing happened to me once in my GMC. Wire fell onto the big v6's exhaust manifold and it melted. lol Blew the fuse and luckily didn't hurt anything else. New piece of wire and a fuse and all has been fine. Almost mentioned this forgetting you have an I6.....no manifolds on that side.
