60-63 aftermarket gas pedal

Slipping over from the 47-59 board with a question. I just bought a 60-63 gas pedal from Classic Parts. Nice heavy metal with rubber covering. Question is did the stock pedals have a internal hinge where the floor mount part meets the upper pedal? I did a search and it looks like it did. The one I got is really stiff, I am going to call them tomorrow to see if it is made with a hinge. Has anyone used the Classic Parts pedal? Reason for the pedal is I used linkage out of a 62 truck when I converted to v8 in the 80's and ran it without the pedal, want to add it now. Thanks

Re: 60-63 aftermarket gas pedal

No hinge. 2 screws hold the bottom flap down to the floor. Your throttle return spring on the carb holds the gas pedal up via the linkage. The back of the pedal rests against the linkage end in the cab.

Re: 60-63 aftermarket gas pedal

Talked to Classic this morning, they said it was made "just like the original" and should pivot fine. Guess I will bolt it in and see how it works. Thanks for the reply Kerber63.
