need new steering shaft opinions and suggestions

I,m replace my steering column on my 78 2 wheel blazer and I need the D shape steering shaft.Should I change to a u joint style while I,m here or replace the rag joint. Is the u joint style that much better ? If I change to a u joint setup what is the best options.I see a jeep swap on u-tube but not sure if this is a proper way to do this.thanks

I changed over to the Jeep shaft. I can't really say that it's better than a new rag joint would be, but it's certainly better than a 30 year old rag joint for sure. And pretty easy as well.

I used a HELP! rag joint from Autozone when I swapped in my powersteering box. Steering is TIGHT. I think there is a big rag joint and a small one. In fact the tight steering is one of the great things about my old beater truck.
