headliner
I'm wanting to put a headliner in my '69 C-10. I wondered if I can screw it right to the roof or should I glue it. Didn't know if the top was a double thickness? I can make the headliner up myself. Any help will be appreicated,,,thanks

Re: headliner
Glue it.
You Can put the chrome trim around too, but that you have to be careful cuttin the slots for the snaps and drilling the screw holes. To answer your other question, yes the roof is double walled, but they're very close to each other. Hope this helps |

Question , what are you building it out of ? If the board is to thin it will warp and become wavy , to thick and you can't install chrome mouldings around it . Spray adhesive won't work the heat will allow it to drop , liquid nails is used to build homes not trucks , it would probably work but god what a mess to remove later on . If you don't have the mouldings use 100 % clear silicone , only costs a few bucks a cartridge and can be cleaned off later on without damaging the paint if you decide to remove it . Any type of adhesive used will mean destroying the headliner if you did decide to remove it , you could try adhesive backed 2" Velcro but depending on where you live in Maine it could work fine , Florida might not last an hour .

Re: headliner
Gonna use thin form core, spray adhesive for the vinyl to stick it to the core and use some kind of a type of a door trim.

we used to always prank the new guys in the shop by handing them a styrofoam cup and telling them to go get some glue out of the 5 gallon bucket , they would get about 3 feet before it melted leaving them with 2 handfuls of contact cement . Haha ! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: headliner
Had mine done on my 72 last summer. Upholsterer used the original "hardboard" and recreated the black vinyl covering. Told me he used a significant amount of contact cement to get it to stick. He then installed a new chrome trim piece. It is flat with no sags at all.
