Idea: Making a set of bucket seats out of two bench seats.
Has anyone else thought of this? Bench seats are a dime a dozen, and maybe if you halved two bench seat frames, and cut them to about the size of bucket seat widths and weld the frames back together could you get close to have some look-a-like bucket seats. They wouldn't be perfect, but I bet they would look good. This is probably one of those ideas that is good in theory, but not sure about the real application. What do you guys think? Has this been thought of before?

The springs are slightly differant shape from bench to bucket. I guess if you could get the bucket seat foam to work on the bench springs, you might be able to use the bucket covers.

You wouldn't necessarily have to use bucket foam/covers. You could keep the bench foam & have custom covers made. Wouldn't be 100% look-a-likes.

Regardless of how cheap eggs are in China it is not worth the wear and tear on the hens rear end... Seems like alot of time, energy and effort when there are alot of original bucket seats out there.

Re: Idea: Making a set of bucket seats out of two bench seats.
I've been building them for a while now along with power rear window mod in my 67's check out the thread noted above , another project I'm building for a member is a factory 67 flip seat with custom covers to simulate Pro stock buckets with 7" high integrated headrests and a custom flip down console mounted in the seat back . All custom built using the factory 67 flip bench seat frame as the base , you will flip out when you see what he decided to use for the seat material ! Definetly one of a kind !
