Tung oil for bed wood?

Hello all I just received my brand-new Bed wood from mar k. Went with Oak. I'm now starting the task of figuring out what kind of finish to apply. Durability and resistance to weather is not that much of a concern to me because my truck will likely never see any kind of precipitation. Someone mentioned using tung oil rather than the typical Marine or spar varnish. Wondering if anyone has any experience. Thanks in advance

Re: Tung oil for bed wood?

Tung Oil is OK - More Important is using White Oak - instead of - Red Oak ..

Furthermore then the UV - considerations ..

I went with : Tung / Linseed with 30 % Sealer . 2 Coats , then Applied Third Coat
with 50% More Sealer Added to the Above Mix .. MinWax - UV Exterior - had Stored Wood Tool Cabinet 18 yrs. 1 Gallon all Oil . .
