12K Rear Springs for a V/K30?
Anyone have a part number?
Surely GM made a set... maybe? I am thinking a C&C truck would have them as an option. My truck has 10k's on it now and want to upgrade. Thanks! |

Re: 12K Rear Springs for a V/K30?
Looking in the parts catalog, I see a number for 85-86 CK3 and 87-91 RV3 that has ten leaves for the (G52) option. Part no. is 15687316. That would probably be for a boom/bucket or dump box chassis. Hope that helps. The only other option would be the P series Van and motorhome chassis parts.

Thats an 11800# spring. They seem to be discontinued. If you find some, I would be interested as well.

That's the same model as mine. Only difference is mine is C7C weight code, thus has 4.10 gears and a 10,500 GVWR. That 6.2L was really a good engine, it just suffered from a lack of gears. Put a six or seven speed in one and they would have been awesome.

Last summer I had 5 tons on the truck , NOT safe! Drove slowly around turns and lots of stopping distance. If I had been stopped by the cops, I don't even want to think about it.

you can start by searching this part number on napaonline PART #
TWD 022061600 they come from TW distribution witch i dont see them having a website i dont remember the rating but it was the strongest i could get for my 85 k35 wrecker at a spring shop, price is wrong on napa s site as i had them for 433$ each at the shop or 270$ each directly at napastrucks line store in montral back in 2013.i did not had a price or part number for the upper smaller helper springs

Re: 12K Rear Springs for a V/K30?
Why not add a set of airbags instead? I'm actually looking at going lighter on the spring to try to get a slightly better ride when empty...rear suspension does not move at all when I'm empty...and even with 800lbs of tongue weight on the hitch it still doesn't move much. I had 2600lbs in the bed once and it was just kissing the overload springs. It rode nice with that load.
