Intro and OEM fan set-up question for 1988 454 one ton dually

Hi All - Dave here, new to this forum. I have a few older trucks, but I am working on two late 80s square body one ton 2WD Dually rigs.

One of the rigs is a 1988 Camper Special that was missing its engine and tranny when I bought it. I swapped in a 454 TBI that was readily avaialble and all is running well. I am now working on the A/C hook-up and I am tackling the A/C condensor and radiator shroud area to ensure I have the right cooling set-up. I am struggling finding a replacement radiator fan shroud and I am scratching my head at this point.

So, here's the question:

Is it possible that this truck had an OEM Electric radiator and a/c condensor fan set-up from the factory?

Thanks a ton in advance.

Dave

No it would have been a mechanical clutch fan with a shroud.

The shroud assembly is a unicorn. I ordered replacement pieces from LMC for my 89 (both the shroud + radiator top cover) & neither was correct/matched the OE stuff. I just had to clean up my OE stuff & go w/it.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Thanks for the follow-up. My thought at this point is to buy a new radiator (planning on it at some point anyway) and match the aftermarket shroud to that. Is this possible or am I up against the same issue?

Thanks again,

Dave

Factory setup with a.c. would have the water pump mounted clutch fan and shroud as well as a small auxiliary electric pusher fan mounted to the frontside of the core support on the passengers side.
