Re: I Have Gotten Fat And Need Help Can U Help?
I feel your pain. I've had my 84 GMC for 16 years and have been holding onto it for an LS swap but I just don't fit well in it, and I was always snug in there to begin with. I've been looking for a crew but they are insane money these days.
The pounds stick to me like Rhino Liner. |

Congratulations man. More pics are in order. Especially now that it is your truck. Way to hold the line on that one -- I get pulled into "deals" sometimes when I should walk away. You walked away and the deal came back to you!

Re: I Have Gotten Fat And Need Help Can U Help?
Was looking for the vin for the engine and there is no vin, from what I understand that may mean it has been decked....
I am wondering what internals it has.... Block says 3870010 which from what I gather is actually a 3970010, heads are 14102193 which are not performance heads.... I am thinking the compression is pretty high because if the deck was shaved and with these heads which are 64cc (possibly 58cc), probably 10:1 or higher I think.... |

Well have not been on here in a bit, I have been working a lot, people at work getting sick or what have you, someone has to be there and I guess that someone is me.
Finished up some brake work on the truck and decided to test them.... They dont work, but the gas pedal seems to work better. |

Video wouldn't load for me. I'll have to check it out another time. When you get the chance, what are the wheel manufacturer and tire size that you have on there? Those things are meatballs!

They are actually too wide, the wheels need to be an inch or two more narrow because on a bump the wheel lip catches the fender. I bought some stiffer shocks which will hopefully dampen the bumps enough, if not may have to get new wheels. |

Re: I Have Gotten Fat And Need Help Can U Help?
Well lots of things have changed....Could not get the truck tuned to where I think it was right, and having a fuel delivery issue....
Replaced dist, plugs, wires, adjusted timing, replaced carb, replaced multiple fuel pumps , currently running electric, been chasing demons all over the place... Decided to say to heck with it, yanked the top end off, measured stroke, bore, deck clearance etc.... It's a 355, aluminum hyp pistons with 4 valve reliefs, compression was likely too low for the cam thats in it, heads were leaking (valves n seals), plugs were fouling out because the combo on the truck was just all wrong.... Ordered a new set of 59cc aluminum heads, Hurricane manifold, now has a Holley 750 mech carb, electric fuel pump, 2500 stall torque converter (trans has shift kit too), have to order my fabbed valve covers and a few more goodies and wait for the other odds and ends to arrive and hopefully get her out driving before winter.... Should be right around 10:2-10:5 compression, should be a good little engine... Heads are supposed to arrive 6/1 then I will try my hand at some gasket matching and port touch up... I'm excited... |

Re: I Have Gotten Fat And Need Help Can U Help?
Not everyone knows how to put together an engine. There is a little more involved than just bolting on parts. I am glad you dug into it and came up with a solid plan.
