Re: low buck hood lock
This truck was stolen from a friend of mine in Lodi, CA last year. Same as rvrfoot, they pushed it away. It was one of the few times he didn't block it in with his daily driver. We never saw hide nor hair of it again. These days you need to use layers of protection. Disconnect the power and lock the hood, use a club and a trailer wheel lock, get an alarm and/or a Lojack, and a motion sensing floodlight, but above all...have a talk with your insurance agent before you have any problems. If you don't have stated value coverage, get a professional written appraisal so you don't get jacked around. (My agent gave me a referral for an appraiser.) Too many of us are unsure about just how well covered we really are until misfortune strikes.
