I had a similar problem with a '79 Peterbilt that I had alot of money in, it got wrecked for me and the other guy's insurance paid for it, they said it was only worth $8500, which was what they determined replacement value at, I told them to buy the truck they found for that money and bring it to me. (this was when trucks were still worth something) They wound up giving me 12,500 for it which was a $3000 profit for me on the truck, best deal I ever got!!!
