wooden bumper
As if I didn't have enough little projects going. I was thinking about replacing the rear bumper on my 78 stepside. The guy who had it before me replaced the bumper with one from a late 90's Dodge Ram....... It doesn't look bad, I just want something different. Was considering a step bumper but then remembered a wooden bumper I saw once. It looked really cool, and I'm guessing its stronger than most steel bumpers. Anybody have any pictures or links with info on where to start?????
Thanks!

Wood is extremely strong in low speed / low momentum impacts, but shatters when it is hit very hard with a lot of momentum, just something to keep in mind...

Never thought of that. Guess thats why they make road sign posts from wood. I'm guessing a steel/ wood combo would be the way to go.
