1966 C10 LWB stepside
Hello everyone! I recently acquired a 66 C10 stepside that has a 10 year old restoration. It is a daily driver but has a lot of little things it needs like several rust blisters in all the usual places. I have sanded, filled and spot primered them for the moment and will get back to that later. Right now my biggest issue is gas fumes in the cab. It has a new sending unit and I can't see any leaks but the fumes are very strong and I was wondering what I could do about it short of relocating the tank. It's hard to imagine that it would be normal to have to breathe those fumes. It is unbearable with the windows up. Any ideas?

I was thinking of that. It a little difficult to see. I do have a new body grommet for the filler tube so I guess when I tackle that I will replace the hose too and see if it makes any difference. Thanks for the reply

Nice truck! Welcome from Mississippi! Hope you didn't go under water a while back!
If you didn't know already there is a forum member here that is producing these neck grommets outta better material w/ lifetime warranty. It's more work than it looks like to change those so do yourself a favor & get one before you start. The imported ones last about a yr out in the sun... Oh yeah BE SURE you have a vented cap. The wrong cap can cause your problem. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...+neck+grommets |
