Will Blazer gas tank fit '60-'62 frame rails?

Title pretty much says it all.

I'm planning the build for my '62 K10, and need to know if a Blazer gas tank will fit the frame rails of the '60-62 trucks.

I just picked up a K5 gas tank skid plate today, so I'm hoping everything works in the frame.

Re: Will Blazer gas tank fit '60-'62 frame rails?

I used a Blazer gas tank in my 65 Suburban several years ago until they started re making the senders for the Suburban tanks. I fit in my original tank space just perfect, and I actually gained 11 gallons capacity. If I remember correctly, I had to remove the brace that the spare rested against when it was under the bed of my truck. Other than that just getting your original gauge to work with the sender unit for the blazer tank, or getting a gauge that will work. I'm pretty sure it will fit yours.
Not sure if these pictures will help, but here is the Blazer tank in my truck. Also is a picture of the original tank in it, as well as a side by side comparison.

The rear frame rails on the '60-'62 K series frames should be the same outside width as the rear frame rails on a '63-'72 C/K frame. However you may have to do a little trimming on the inside of the bottom flange. I can't say for sure.

Re: Will Blazer gas tank fit '60-'62 frame rails?

Thanks!
I expect I'll have to move a crossmember, too. Trimming the rails or moving a cross member I don't mind... trying to narrow a gas tank to fit just isn't practical!
And I really like the idea of the big Blazer gas tank for capacity, and the factory skid plate is a nice touch.
