Re: S10 swap Budget 17"-20" Wheels - What should I look for?
Everyone that has been here a while knows that I am not a fan of big wheels on old trucks but 1952ssr nailed it and that is a lesson right there. You look at his truck and Youngrodders truck and both have wheels that don't overpower the truck nor are they gaudy like the big wheels the local tire stores push.
When you go look at 20's around here this is what they try to sell you. Lots of gaudy extra bling.

I was thinking that the steel smoothie wheels would be budget friendly but see that they cost some real money

I'm in agreement that gawdy wheels are unnecessary for an old truck. Even the ridler 645s that caught my eye come in a gunmetal so it tones down the chrome a bit.

I don't how quickly you need something to go by, but I hope by the end of next week to have my truck where I can put the wheels on it and have some idea how they will work.

Ahh not in a hurry like most things. I still have the entire cab interior to fabricate pedals, wire up everything, and install a steering column. Should take me at least a day

Did you ever get those wheels fitted?

Re: S10 swap Budget 17"-20" Wheels - What should I look for?
Got a line on some Ridler 695 wheels to pickup this week. Still not sure about tire sizes for my truck, so I'm hoping I'm not wasting money on the setup. The 18" wheels I'm pretty sure are the right backspacing for the S10 frame swap.
"5x4.75 bolt pattern 2- 18x8 4.5 back space 2-18x9.5 5.5 back space Nitto 555 G2's on them 245/40/18 & 285/40/18"
