Re: Chevy 250 swap into 53 pickup

What was your end game parts list for the water pump, trans crossmember, trans mounts, transmission? With or without mods?

Thanks,

Steve weim55 Colorado

Re: Chevy 250 swap into 53 pickup

Engine, trans, bell, all came from a 67c10. Rear cross member was from a 55 pickup. Side engine mounts and frame perches from chassis engineering. Oe water pump, hei distributor but I used a non coil in cap one (didn’t look so bad). Clutch linkage is 53 oe. Carb is a Weber 2 barrel. I placed the engine as far back as I could without modifying the firewall. Fan blade and pulley are 250 and I have plenty of room between it and the radiator. Now I’m rebuilding the Dana 44 rear axle that the 67 had to put it under the rear. No regrets, runs beautiful, maintains the straight 6 personality, and has great power. I actually put 1800 miles on it this summer which is more than the past 10 yrs. I will get some pics. Anthony

Re: Chevy 250 swap into 53 pickup

That's great information, thank you! I take it the crossmember was from a 55 first series? Any mods to the crossmember or bell housing to drop it in the truck?

Thanks,
