Looking at the 3 parts series here, it appears that somebody had a Cab/chassis truck and wanted one with a bed on it. The bed originally came off a regular long bed. That would explain the frame difference in relation to the rear bed mount. Somebody put quite a bit of work into that at one point to build a truck. If it were me I would use the bed that was there and weld a 45 degree gusset on the back of the frame and run a bolt through it.
