new coil springs
1970 C10
350cu/350 auto short bed converted fully restored this past year and mostly stock so my spid states that my truck has heavy duty springs. The ride is decent but I was considering changing the springs to a standard or non heavy duty if that makes sense. with 3 other trucks i used for work I have no need to load or haul with this c10. any suggestions on whether this will make a difference? I'm guessing heavy duty springs were and option and not standard? any brand you could suggestion any input appreciated. thanks! RRM

Re: new coil springs
When I rebuilt the front end on my 72 last year I went with Moog HD. With the 1 1/4 inch sway bar I added it is pretty stiff. If I ever have to do the ball joints again I'll probably switch to standard springs. Handles the curves well, but on rough surfaces it's too harsh to be comfortable.

Re: new coil springs
the "heavy duty" springs on your 1/2 may be nothing more than a set for the big block or even a 3/4 ton. I would just order a set for a 1/2 ton small block

Re: new coil springs
Wouldnt this be referring to the REAR springs as thats where the additional payload rides?

Re: new coil springs
So checked the spid again this morning and yes it's HD rear springs. I assumed it was front and back.
Going to get standard spring and possibly 1.5" lowering blocks to level stance. Thanks for input. Such a great board here RRM
