fuel pressure regulator mounting???
what would i need to mount a pressure regulator between the inlet fittings on a holley or demon carb?
i've seen it done before. the line from the fuel pump goes to the inlet on the regulator. and then the 2 outlets on it curve up to the inlets on the carb. |

You need to set the regulator before the T fitting rather than what I'm thinking you're wanting to do which would be after that. I know Matt (blackbeast) had that setup like that on his monster engine 406?

I would use aluminum line from Summit and a flare tool and tubing bender. Steel works but another member showed me how much aluminum is more forgiving and doesn't break like steel

I ran the gas line from the frame up to the regulator on the fender, then up to the fuel line for my holley. I used the second opening for a pressure gauge.

Here's the best pic of the engine I have. You can see where the fuel line comes up at the front of the engine but then it goes into a flared T then has equal lenghts to both fuel bowls. This makes the flow even he said. Eric may be able to get a better pic off the video.

i can take care of the alum. tubing, flaring and bending and so forth, but i need somewhere to order those fittings. i would be getting this regulator:
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...61&prmenbr=361 it uses 3/8 npt i would like it to look as much like the picture i posted as possible. the speed demon carb uses 9/16 -24 fittings on the carb Last edited by ocbaud; 04-23-2004 at 02:04 AM. |

Eric you're going to have to go to Auto Zone or O'Rilleys and get the fittings. You will need 3/8 male thread with a fitting to fit a inverted flare of whatever size you need for that fuel line to the bowl. Then you need the inverted flare to fit thatfitting you just installed in the regulator. Same thing for the bowl but it needs to be 9/16 instead of the 3/8.

I'm kinda wondering what fuel pump your running that would require you to use a regulator. There are plenty of low pressure high volume pumps out there that would easily feed your engine. You could spend your money on something else.
Me I would just try to keep your combo simple the more stuff you add the more that goes wrong. |

He's running an electric Holey pump I think. With that you need to have a fuel regulator.

Eric,
I have the Holley 110 on my big block and you do not need a regulator. I havent had any problems with the pump blowing the float off its seat. I will say that you picked a great mecanical pump it resolved alot of my fuel starvation problems. @ 5500 RPM I still have 6psi |
