LS Swap

I am putting an 6.0 LQ4 in my 70 blazer and am trying to figure out if i need an oil cooler. Most things i have read online say use synthetic oil and you dont need it unless you are gonna be racing. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have several friends that race and dont use oil coolers on LS motors... I dont see a reason for needing one unless you are planning on beating it non stop... I have owned several LS equipped vehicles and i the only one that had a stock cooler was the Camaro 2SS

No, its not needed. You will just need to unbolt the lines from the block and replace them with a bypass block off of an engine that didn't have an oil cooler.

I think for longevity (several 100k's) you should run one but for the average engine going less than 200k there isn't a big difference.
