Decorative Differential Support Bar
Good morning,
I saw a blazer at a car show and it had a chrome decorative support bar on the differential. Does anyone know what this is actually called or where I can find one for my 71 Blazer? |

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
Welcome to the board....
Without a picture......I don't think anyone will have any idea what you saw... the only thing I can think of....and it would require a lot of "if"..... is some kind of track bar.....was it front or rear diff? but since the stock blazers were leaf sprung...even that would be a remote possibility...? Your camera is your best friend when you're looking for this kind of information....

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
unfortunately I didn't take a picture and I've exhausted google looking for a picture or technical term
The decorative bar was on both the front and the back. It was basically a bar that came across from one side to the other and split in the middle to "cradle" the pumpkin. I drew it in red on the attached picture. |

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
This is a terrible picture, but it's more decorative than anything structural.

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
That looks like a hickey front axle truss.

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
I am running a front and rear axle truss made by rhino. They are chrome. May be closer to what you saw.

Re: Decorative Differential Support Bar
These trusses were supposed to prevent your axle tubes from bending up after making airborne landings, ala Dukes of Hazard. I think all they really did was get hung up on stuff.
