1" Rotors

I know that nobody sells the 1" thick rotors in 6 lug. I really don't want to change everything to go to a 6 lug 1-1/4 thick rotor. So my question is does anyone offer 1" rotors plug welded and drilled to 6 lug?

I may be lost on this, but are you using stuff from a newer vehicle, that you want to convert to 6 lug before you put it on yours?

I would imagine the plugging and redrilling would not be cheap, and you would be looking at doing it again whenever you need a new rotor.

Yes I already installed front crossmember from an 81. I put new calipers rotors brake lines and hoses. So kind of just wanted to change the rotors to a six lug. When I bought the crossmember I didn't know the difference between 1" and 1-1/4" I thought they were all the same.

The rotors come with the hub and they can be plugged and redrilled. The machine shop cost may be higher than the parts to swap to 1 1/4" cost. Then you have to pay that each time you need rotors.

They are the same except for the caliper/rotor size.

I believe all the kits are made of the 71-72 disc brakes which were all 1 1/4. The 73-87 models came up with the lower end 1" thick ones.

It would be less expensive (over time) to change the rear to 5 lug

73 to87 came in both 1 1/4 and the light duty 1" rotors. When I bought my 66 I bought a crossmember out if a wrecked 80 model with dropped spindles in it. It had 1" rotors on it and 1 1/4 calipers. I put 1 1/4 rotors back on them in 6 lug. So it may be worth looking into swapping.
