Re: stolen battery
Kinda difficult since I restored the door locks to normal and pulled the chain out from the hood. Sorry.

Re: stolen battery
I use gun looks to look my hoods. Really cheap and effective.

Re: stolen battery
You mean sorta like this? Yeah that would probably work but I'm not always hanging around giving that look.

Re: stolen battery
side arms most have two i just used mine anyways i hate a thief, i believe a member named putter modified his latch to open with pull cable in the cab like later models and eliminated the one behind the grill.

Re: stolen battery
At our house, we call that the "Dad Glare", and you better hope you didn't get it while cutting up at the dinner table. I didn't even have to say a word; the kids would just look over at me, and straighten right up. I didn't have to beat them, either, BTW (or ever did beat them). Even though Socrates said, "Beat your son every day. You won't know why, but he will." Socrates got some stuff wrong, but we have had a little bit of education since then.

Re: stolen battery
I have 30-30 shells for door locks and a few on the dash. One for my over drive switch on the dash. Batteries are both bolted in. Walmart deep cycle cheapos anyway.

Re: stolen battery
I kinda liked the idea of a horn switch, hood opens, horn sounds...I got one of these, works great! I dont advocate buying Chinese products but for $15 it was money well spent. https://www.harborfreight.com/wirele...tem-61910.html
Funny true story; When I was a young teenager a couple of my buddies came over after dark (on a school night) and was tossing pebbles at what they thought was my bedroom window. Nope, they were one window off! They were hitting the window right next to my dads side of the bed in mom and dads bedroom. Dad gets up, doesn't say a word just goes to the gun cabinet and extracts his 36" 12 gauge Marlin. He let one round off on the front porch waking everybody in the house up! That got "Billy & Tim" running...When I got to the front door he was standing in the middle road hollering, "keep running!" That's when he brought that 12 gauge back down and let another round go...BOOM! He rained terror on my poor buddies backs...When I got on that school bus the next morning there they were, eyes still wide open! "Your old man shot us!" they said. "You guys threw rocks at the wrong window, your lucky he let you get down the road as far as he did." A few red spots was all, they never came back!...

Re: stolen battery
harpo has "DE" as his residence. If that stands for "Delaware" he didn't have a right to pull his gun, not without attempting to run as far as he could first. Correct me if I am wrong, but according to www.findlaw.com Delaware is a "must retreat" state. Harpo did state "cuz was outside." So outside the home in Delaware, one must run away. I am not sure if that includes one's driveway but I'd be on the safe side and assume it does.
I will always support a victim's right to fight back and kudos on his kick but if it had failed and a shooting been forced, the local DA might have brought charges. Since not every carpentry problem requires a hammer and since I couldn't kick anyone above their crotch, I also carry pepper spray. I've pulled it twice and both times the bad guy backed off. Problem solved, nothing "happened," so no reason to take further action. Last edited by In The Ten Ring; 01-22-2018 at 06:57 AM. |

Now the biggest problem with unauthorized intrusion into a 1971 or 1972 hood is the perp ends up breaking the grill! |
