Denali in denial.
Have a 2004 Denali being stored at my place after the transmission went.
Can I use the rear disk brake setup if I weld a mounting flange onto my original 12 bolt with spline mounted backing plates? Will the booster,, master be of any use? Will switch to transit wheels for caliper clearence. On my way to Houston so I haven't taken a look or dimensions.

Re: Denali in denial.
I think that the axle for those years are even wider that the 70-87 years. Those added and extra 3/4" on each side. This probably adds more so it may effect your rims/tires. I know on my 2002 with rear disks, 15" wheels do not clear the calipers, so that may be another wheel issue to look at.
Other wise I would think it wopuld work with the right master cylinder/proportioning valve to hanlde the extra fluid flow.

Re: Denali in denial.
You would have to fab/machine some sort of jig to hold the new backing plate flange perfectly square and perpendicular to the axle tube and at the correct distance for the brake offset dimension. There will also be some machine work needed on the axle flanges. Other than that, it should be doable.

Re: Denali in denial.
My cousin has a machine shop and could turn a shaft to hold a flange while it is welded in place.
