Question 1960 c10 questions..

1960 c10

So I have the ***** of a truck to lower from what I've read...

So I'm after low in the front and bagging back.
I'm thinking 2 inch drop spindles and 3 inch springs in front.
Then turning the torsion bars for more...

The drop spindles would mean disk brake upgrade from what I can gather..
That just more money...

Then all the kits I see are for the whole truck...I just need the front.

So do I buy everything individually? Or is there something out there I'm missing ?

I am going to swap a squarebody crossmember into my '61. Cheap from a wreckers, affordable and plentiful parts, and squarebody dropped spindles are cheap too.

The '60-'62 trucks do not have any coil springs in the front, just the torsion bars. So all you can do for lowering the front is a set of '60-'62 dropped spindles and loosen the torsion bars. The other option is to change the entire front suspension as SkinnyG mentioned.

It depends on how low you want to go.
If you plan on slamming it the cross member swap would be the way to go.
The torsion bar key bolts tend to be the problem with ground clearance as they hang lower then the frame.
I went with drop spindles / cranked bars on my 60 not as low as I wanted due to header clearance, but the ride is sweet.
My useless 2 cents.....
