I currently have a Chevelle mirror in place of the stock on in my 71 LWB Deluxe, and it is LONG...but I like it. With the bid wide back window, I can see everything very well behind me!

Yet, if I had a small window truck or a short bed, then the smaller mirror would probably be just fine, especially if I were going for the "SUPER COOL" factor.

I also like having the mirror mounted to the cab above the window. Looks like this one is designed to stick to the windhield as they do on most newer cars these days.
