delete plate

I looked for a delete plate and radio for my 58.I could not find anything I liked.so I made one,I machined the back so it would sit flat, and took to the local sign shop and had them lazer etch the logo,it was cheep $15.00,if I had planed ahead I would have smoothed the dash, but I did not, also bought a hand full of wiper knobs ,drilled and tapped them for the other holes

Re: delete plate

No pics? It never happened!

But seriously, I bought a non-working ‘55 radio for my truck just to fill the hole. Now I feel it’s too big to mount for no purpose so I’m thinking about leaving it out and using a delete plate. But I want it chromed and the factory delete plate is pretty thin sheet metal.

Here’s one in a ‘40 Ford pickup that looks a lot more substantial - I’d love to have something like this so I am interested in what you had made. I’ve been thinking about having a finned aluminum one made so that I could polish it and maybe use a small enameled Chevy bow tie emblem or a “Body by Fisher” emblem in the center of it.

Re: delete plate

"Insert Radio Here"

Yes, I have a dry sense of humor.

I had a radio delete plate in my truck, which I removed to test fit a custom faceplate. I have never found the delete plate again!

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: delete plate

That looks good. It's nice to see a creative solution.
