all good points. I am very concerned as my truck will be my daily, and I can use my thumb to dent the bed sides in any spot except the rear curve to the taillights. Its thin!

Older low crowned body panels relied on brute thickness to maintain shape. That's one reason newer cars are so curvy with deep bodylines. The thinner metal holds it shape much better when used like that. Like adding beads or joggles to a floor pan..
