Good sway bar kit?
Time to put a sway bar on my 87. I've heard buy the thick one, which I guess is 1.25"? Looking for a kit that comes with everything. Don't want to go pick through the junkyard. Which one would you go with? Any reason I shouldn't go with this one?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Belltech-54...1ZXkxD&vxp=mtr And it looks like you have to have this adapter kit. Since my truck didn't come with a factory sway bar: https://www.summitracing.com/oh/parts/bel-5704/reviews/ Last edited by bennylava; 02-18-2018 at 02:41 AM. |

Re: Good sway bar kit?
How about the rear? I've read on this site that the front of the truck is the main source of the body roll problem. Anyone put a sway bar on the rear? And what was the effect vs the one on the front?

Re: Good sway bar kit?
That is one I an looking at for my 81, unless I can find a factory GM one off a C20 or C30 truck at the pick & pulls.
I would like to do the factor setup, but have heard that is a really good one.

Re: Good sway bar kit?
bump for my rear sway bar question.
Is it necessary? Does adding a rear sway bar to these trucks, have a noticeable effect? Or is a front sway bar generally all that is necessary? |

Re: Good sway bar kit?
My Suburban has front and rear and was lowered too. It is a big heavy SUV but corners amazingly flat. Depends on what you want but rear does make a difference, not nearly as dramatic as the front but they work together very well. So while not necessary I vote for well worth it.
Not intentionally but I have scarred a couple of passengers going into a curve at my normal speed and in the corner of my eye I see them tense and brace themselves. They are surprised that is just turns, no drama. |

Re: Good sway bar kit?
CPP sells a kit to move the front sway bar up closer to the body so it doesn't hang so low on the front. I have one on my truck.
