Re: Bigger ball joints ?????

Is it loose in the spindle or in the lower control arm? I think you will just have to replace the part that is worn.

Re: Bigger ball joints ?????

if the ball joint socket is not worn beyond repair, you might be able to re-ream the taper so the joint just sits slightly lower, but solidly, in the tapered socket.

This would only work for minor damage to the taper. FWIW

Re: Bigger ball joints ?????

On my old 70, I put a few tack welds in the a-arm area, then smoothed them out and it basically rebuilt the taper area and the ball joint fit in the socket hole tightly again.

I had off-road truck I had to gusset the socket on the upper A arm and tack weld the ball-joint into. With out doing that I kept blowing the joint out on landings.
