Re: Ol' Blue Ready to Roll!
Looks great! I'd put a factory steering wheel on it if it were me, but that's just my preference. Very similar to my own truck but with the white seats instead of blue and woodgrain instead of a painted cluster.
Here's my reproduction wheel for comparison. I know where you can find a blue NOS wheel but the guy wants over $600 so I said no thanks! Your wood wheel looks -better- than the blue plastic, however, just not as original!

Re: Ol' Blue Ready to Roll!
I'm really digging the era correct LT1 look under the hood!!
And way to go restoring a long bed with such tasteful upgrades! Your Cheyenne will always retain all the classic purity Chevy designed into these trucks long past all the fads of the modified units. Nice job....... Steve weim55 Colorado |

Hey Weim! Nice catch! I painted the intake orange to make it a little less obvious.

Re: Ol' Blue Ready to Roll!
One of the dyno runs on the old girl - original block, 355. We tweaked her a little bit and ran again. Managed to bring her up to 379 HP @ 5600 RPM and 400 ft. lbs. of torque at 3600 RPM. Not crazy numbers but about what I was looking for

Those are nice dyno numbers.
What sort of a cam and heads do you have in it? If/when I re-do my original 350 I'm going to be pressing more for torque in a lower range and less about horsepower I think. Regardless, I'd be curious about your cam/heads if possible. ...love that dual snorkel air cleaner by the way! Thanks Coley ![]()

Re: Ol' Blue Ready to Roll!
Hey Coley! She's cammed and built for low RPM torque. All old school, period correct stuff on the motor. Double hump big valve heads, high torque at lower RPM Howards roller cam, roller lifters, roller tip rockers (couldn't use full roller lifters because of the valve cover clearance and I want those LT-1 valve covers!) flat top pistons, eddie manifold and carb. Headman 2 1/2" ceramic coated headers into 2 1/2" Flowmaster stainless exhaust. Nothing crazy, I just wanted a dependable, reliable "puller" made to go the long haul. Oh, other drivetrain stuff is a BTO Phase 2 700R4, 3:73 posi Eaton. 'bout it...

Re: Ol' Blue Ready to Roll!
So BTO tests on the transmission passed yesterday, warranty in effect. 109 miles on her so far, all good! Minor stuff to tweak as to be expected. Rain moved in this afternoon, back into the garage.
