52 Chevy Hood Ornament

I have a 52 Chevy pickup (3100) and was wondering if anyone can help me with the placement of a new hood ornament I purchased? I do not have the original mounting holes on my hood; however, I do have a template for the holes. I just need the placement.....I think the easiest measurement would be from the top of the Chevy emblem to the front of the hood ornament. Does anyone have an original hood with a hood ornament and Chevy emblem? You could take a measurement and send it to me. Thanks.
