Square Body Tahoe

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has pics of the rear floor area (without carpet) for a 1998ish 4-door Tahoe/Yukon. I was trying to see how the rear area is shaped/constructed; thinking about making a 4-door square body Tahoe if I get a hold of a square body suburban body. Basically I'm trying to see how the rear wheel tub area looks, the door pillar area around the wheel opening, and how the floor is constructed to support the 2nd row seat. I know it'll be a lot of work to make it, just trying to get an idea of what all would have to be done. Thanks

Re: Square Body Tahoe

Thanks; that is sweet lookin'! I think to make a 4-door tahoe, I figured I'd need a 2-door short box truck frame for the correct length. I'm basing my measurements off of the 88-98 trucks/burbs/blazers. Here are some photoshops I've found of Tahoes; I love the stubby look they have. The blue/gray Tahoe I feel is more accurate; the orange one's wheel well goes too far into the rear door I think. Thanks

Re: Square Body Tahoe

square body wheelbases:
Blazer 106.5"
SCSB 117.5"
Suburban 129.5"
SCLB 131.5"
Crew Cab 164.5"

GMT400 wheelbases:
Tahoe 2dr 111.5"
Tahoe 4dr 117.5"
SCSB 117.5"
Suburban 131.5"
SCLB 131.5"
ECSB 141.5"
CCSB 154.5"
ECLB 155.5"
CCLB 168.5"

While the 4dr wheelbase matches the SCSB, I know that on a square body the frame is shaped significantly differently between trucks and Suburbans. With the amount of work you're putting into the body I'd be tempted to just build a frame too, so you can do it how you want it (I assume boxed, set up right for links, etc)

Re: Square Body Tahoe

GM never made one. I don't know if any aftermarket companies did (I believe one made some extended cab squares).

Re: Square Body Tahoe

Yeah this is the picture they got it from. The brochure was for a 1978 suburban. Thanks for the wheelbases. Slotard, do you know the wheelbase for a 73-91 crew cab short box? I know GM never made one, but I'd like to know the wheelbase. I'm assuming it's about 33" longer than a regular short box. Found a potential crew cab project. Included a pic of an extended cab square body also for reference (not mine). Thanks

Re: Square Body Tahoe

crewcab short box is 14" shorter than a crewcab longbed.

CCLB is 164.5"

CCSB is 150.5"

edit, I could add-

RCSB- 117.5
RCLB- 131.5

so the crewcab adds 33". long bed adds 14".
