A Bit OT: Still Kickin'
Hey Folks - how Ya'll been doin?
If it seems like I'm not around much lately (if you noticed), it's cause I haven't had my truck in town since before Christmas. Well, with Spring finally here, that will soon change - possibly as early as this weekend. Unfortunately, I still don't have my new garage and won't for a while, but I'll just have to settle for playing "leap frog" on the driveway. Speaking of my garage, my brother-in-law has hooked me up with a bunch of used materials. He happens to manage a large potatoe growing operation near my city. They are planning to demolish a large wooden quanset on one of their properties. It's finished with plywood on the interior and fully insulated - - all of this is garbage to them - - but not to ME . So I have been told I can salvage as much as I need. I'm hoping that this could save me at least a couple of G's in sheathing and insulation. I might also salvage the wiring and conduit - depending on it's condition, and what ever else I can find. So it should be interesting... Sorry this was a bit OT, but I thought I'd let you all know I'm still alive. Now hopefully my truck will be after being parked for the winter. Talk to ya'll soon. |

Not sure if it's in order, but Welcome Back! Sounds like a good deal on the building supplies. Keep us posted on the progress.

I think there are lot of members that have been in hibernation like you. It's been kinda quiet around here lately. Good to see you back on active duty. Good luck tearing down the building...

Thanks for the "Welcome Back"s - I appreciate it. It's not like I've been completely gone. I've been skulking around from time to time, keeping an eye on interesting posts, adding my $.02 occasionally. But without having the truck around, it's been less pressing I guess.
Yah, I'm really excited about the garage thing. I don't know exactly when the building will happen (maybe even as late as next year), but I can't pass up the opportunity to score some materials. Rip, Coffee sounds like a good idea. Once I have the truck back, we'll be back to a 2-vehicle household. My wife works Weight-Watchers every Tuesday night, maybe we could plan something like that when your in town. We'll be in touch, I guess. |
