3spd/Dana300
Any market for these set-ups? I think most guys want to put a stronger set-up in their rigs, but there mist be some who want to stay original. I'd think those folks would like to have a spare set-up since parts are hard to find. I acquired a complete set-up that I don't need and wondering what the best route for offering it up would be. Heck, it's all you need to make anything smaller a 4wd with a Chevy engine. I have bellhousing to back of transfer case including front driveshaft.
I also have a set-up out of something else. The bellhousing and transmission look to be one piece and the driveshaft is smaller diameter. I'm thinking Jeep or Scout? I'll have to get pictures. I believe the trans is also a Saginaw.

Re: 3spd/Dana300
What did it come out of? The Dana 300 only came in the Jeep or Scout as far as I know so another application is interesting news. The 300 is the best of the Dana 18/20/300 series and can take some pretty good power.
If it was cheap and you were closer, I'd own it!

Re: 3spd/Dana300
I'm not sure. I rescued a bunch of drivetrain stuff from a building at a place that was going up for sale. I am getting ideas for a fun small/light/fun 4wd. Need a front axle now.

Re: 3spd/Dana300
Cool. The Dana 300 is a great case for a lighter vehicle. Just find you an intermediate CJ-5 (72-75) which is the red-headed stepchild of jeep CJ's. Should be able to get a non-runner cheap. Swap in a Chevy motor with your trans and T-case combo and go to town!
Or if you get an early flat fender find a V6 or 153 to swap in. I have a 3.0 liter Mercruiser for my '52 at some point. It is a bored and stroked 153 FWIW. Still available in boats, welders, generators and forklifts!

Re: 3spd/Dana300
I'm thinking 4-banger. Maybe an old mini-truck or other light commercial. A friend had a Samurai he put an Alpha Romeo motor in. That thing ripped!
