Bench Seat
Hi Guys,
My '65 is a mismatch of parts. The seat looks to be original but the seat cover is not '65 but rather of a later model year. I guess I'm asking if the seats are the same through those years and the only difference was the seat cover pattern? |

Re: Bench Seat
I think they are. I even put a seat from a '69 in mine and it bolted up in the factory floor holes. Looked just like my 66 seat, (which looks just like my '64 seat) too

Re: Bench Seat
Dave,
My thought as well. I will not get nervous about buying the correct year seat cover. I'm sure it will fit. John |

Re: Bench Seat
IIRC there was a thread on here comparing the 60-66 to the 67 up frame. I believe one had a more curved corner and one was more square.

Re: Bench Seat
Jay,
Thanks for the info. Will consider the alternatives. Perhaps I should date the year of my seat by the pattern of the cover. Then know whether to buy an early or late model seat cover. Thanks, John |

Re: Bench Seat
John, post a pic for us. Someone will know exactly what it is. Good news is that even if it's a later seat, there are lots of nice inexpensive covers for it.

Re: Bench Seat
So here's what I've got in my '65. As suggested, perhaps someone can tell me what year I'm looking at . I'm sure you notice the cutout for a floor shift. I'll in time fabricate and weld in a patch panel before re-upholstering the bench. |

Re: Bench Seat
Looks a lot like the ford seat that came in my 65. Post a pic of the side and was it bolted down in the stock holes in the floor.

Re: Bench Seat
this is the original seat cover in my 65 C20 trim RPO Z62 Custom Comfort Equipment
maybe worth a look in yours to see what yours listed from the factory.. post 6 in this thread shows a catalog page that describes mine in a different color.. note - there is mention of 'full foam' not sure what differences there were though.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=534374 hard fought battle for nearly two years reproducing it, hopefully yours codes to a more common upholstery, good luck! look how much my kids aged trying to get fabric from SMS, another year and my boy would be driving it

Re: Bench Seat
PG,
You're making me start to wonder if in fact it's a Chevy part. No.... It did not bolt up to the factory holes. I'm an 'Olds Guy' and know those parts well. Will confess that I'm new to old Chevy parts. Here are the seat rails that I'm repairing. Please don't tell me I'm installing a Ford !! |

Re: Bench Seat
It's not one of our years, see this thread with pics of our seat bracket sliders: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=717228
