Flickering Lights
Whats does it mean when I'm at a Stop/Idle my Headlights & Interior Lights Flicker in my 1985 Suburban. Do I need a Better/New Alternator???

At idle, this may happen. Alternators (especilly high amperage ones) are not very efficient at low speeds. If the charging system works normally otherwise I would not be concerned. If it is too annoying, try a replacement. My voltage also drops at idle with lights, A/C, etc turned on.
The flicker is caused by the regulator trying to increase the alternator output. |
