Hydraboost question

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a master cylinder that will work with an 08 Silverado 2500 Hd hydraboost unit. Obviously a master for the 08 will do the trick but I don’t want to use that master I want to use a cast iron disk/drum cylinder. I was gonna use one off of an 80s hydraboost truck but then I started reading about pushrod lengths and it just all went down hill from there. Anyone have any suggestions? This is going in the K20 build in my signature.

Have you tried your 72 master? I thought there were 2 sizes shallow and long. When most people talk about push rod length I think it's the peddle side. Hydratechbraking.com has some info that might help I think they use a cast disk/drum corvette master.

I would get the booster for the master. I think you can get plenty of fudge leeway on getting the rod mounted to the pedal. I too am skeptical on mismatching masters and boosters. You should get the gold disc drum accumulator too. It has less charge pressure than the Blue and silvers. For a few extra bucks or digging around you can get an assembly that's meant to work together. Plenty of ways to save on hoses and pump and lines. The easy button... if there is suck a thing!

I have an early 2000's Silverado booster.

The first master I used was a 1983 c30. It was the wrong bore size and I had weird brake pedal response.

I switched to the factory master for my truck and have had great results

Thanks guys, just to clarify I’m talking about the pushrod between the booster and master. The pedal pushrod is no issue. I guess I will try a new master for the 72 because they are cheap. I’ve already got the lines and such for the metric booster/ inverted flare box and pump figured out and In place. Jeff if this hodge podge doesn’t work I’ll spring for a combo off of a disk drum truck. I got this whole setup lines and all for free so it’s not like I’m burning money trying to get it together save a new master. I do have another hydraboost from an 04 and the one from the 08 looks to be identical minus the fire wall bracket. I’m hoping that my 72 master will work with the 08 stuff like bs said above.
