Automatic Floor Shifter

Any preference or pictures of floor shifts for trucks with automatics?

I was not looking to build a high console but thinking I might need to do some sort of stand or elongate a shift stick.

I was hoping to do some sort of ratchet shift with lock out (I love my B&M Megashift) but not real sure I'm gonna find something like it.

I think the following has the length needed but it is a crappy shifter

I guess the other option is to re-consider column shift... Not optimal as I'll bring it to the track on occasion but I think I can still get it done if needed.

Re: Automatic Floor Shifter

I'm going to run a lokar floor shifter in my CCSB.

Its always tough to get a nice ratchet in a truck. Seems like you'd be best to elevate the whole shifter over a longer lever.

I'm assuming you have a bench seat?

Why not just get the truck megashifter?

Thumbs up Re: Automatic Floor Shifter

I installed this B&M Mega shifter many years ago and I also love it. I say go with the mega shifter I don't think you will be happy with that one in your link.
I know you can't see how it's mounted but it's on the floor of the cab not elevated at all and it's the perfect height for me.
As mentioned I'm not sure if you have bucket's or bench but in my configuration it's an awesome set up! I can bang through every gear and never miss any and it's got reverse lock out.
I also hooked up the PK/NU Safety sw. and the reverse light.
Good luck.

Re: Automatic Floor Shifter

Thanks for the pics, that looks great!

I was thinking about a 60/40 split bench with a flip down console.

What seats are those,

That does look lik a nice location, I might need to push it out some though if I get the bench. Suppose I can always get (or make) a longer shifter with a slight pull back.

Here is the pallet I'm working with, will likely go black interior

The seats I got out of the u pull it yard there from a '87 Ford Escort GT. There basically the same seats as the Mustang GT from the same era but with grey piping instead of red. The seat tracks are from a '85-89 Merkur XR4Ti it's a German built Ford.
Both of those vehicles will probably be very hard to find in any junk yard these day's.

Looking at the floor in your truck made me remember that I had to fabricate some spacers for the rear of the shifter mounts due to the contour of the cab floor to keep it level.

Looks like you have a really nice rust free truck to work with keep up the good work.

BTW... I'm 6'1 so I know what ya mean about all the room you can get.

You might want to look at Kilduff shifters...

Re: Automatic Floor Shifter

I'm going to pull this thread back and add I plan to run a 4L80E... the BM Megashifter does not list a 4L80E but they do support a 4L60/65e.

Wondering what folks are doing for a 4L80E floor shift?

Will the megashifter work with a 80?

Re: Automatic Floor Shifter

Interesting option, I like the clean lockout. Was hoping to find a ratchet type since I know I'm going to the track 1-2 a year but if needed I'll just have to "tame" my shifting.

I guess I would have also liked a shift indicator too but this would be super clean and look at home in the cab.
