Re: Speedo pulse generator speed sensor?

Reed type or sine wave? Pulses per revolution?

Re: Speedo pulse generator speed sensor?

I can't seem to find any instructions or specs, and it looks like there are several different models of gauges to choose from. There are a number of different types and models of sensor available. Two or three wires to the sensor can be used to determine sine wave vs reed type, but output voltage probably needs to come from specs. Number of pulses per revolution is also critical but without specs it will take a signal generator to work it out. Speed sensors are available from many different sources. Years ago I used United Speedometer in Riverside CA but it look like they're not the best choice anymore. The one linked from Summit may work but then again...

Re: Speedo pulse generator speed sensor?

I’m not sure about Dolphin, but my speedo can be programmed from 4000-200,000 pulse per mile, 16,000 being the standard.
More info on your specific gauge will help.

May also consider the pulse generator offered by dolphin

Re: Speedo pulse generator speed sensor?

Dolphin sells a GM pulse generator, so I ordered that. I didn't think it would work because my speedo has a 1-wire hookup to the sensor, but the sender has 2 wires. They said just hook either wire to the speedo and the other to ground.

Really the only reason I need a speedo is to fill the hole in the dash. The new cell phone speedometer apps are free and they look cool too. I used DigiHud on my last hot rod.
