Brake banjo bolt question
Is the banjo bolt the same between drum brakes and disc brakes? I am converting to front discs Johnny Cash style and am collecting all the parts first before I begin the project. If they are the same, I will just reuse the ones from the drum brake wheel cylinders. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Brake banjo bolt question
drum brakes don't use a banjo bolt, the hose will thread directly onto the wheel cylinder, maybe your asking about if it will connect to the hard /soft line junction? in that case you'd have to make sure you get the correct sized fittings for the new disc hose to match up. most after market hoses for disc use the common 3/8x24 but you can find them in the 7/16 size.

Re: Brake banjo bolt question
Thank you for the reply rynobuilt. I feel like an idiot now. It's been a few years since I replaced the hoses, and I didn't remember they thread in directly. I have new hoses for the conversion, and I have calipers on order, but I don't think the calipers come with the bolts. I searched the site and cannot find a definitive answer on what length the banjo bolts need to be. I also searched the web and none of the big box auto parts stores have a listing for banjo bolts for a 1972 C/10, which is the application I am using to buy all the parts to make the disc conversion.

Re: Brake banjo bolt question
Maybe check a Wagner or Raybestos or Rockauto site.

you'll probably use the 7/16" ones.

Re: Brake banjo bolt question
My hoses need to be much shorter than that. I will pass, but I appreciate the offer.

Re: Brake banjo bolt question
Thanks for all the replies, I found that Dorman p/n 484-203.1 (7/16-20 x 1 1/16) worked for me with Autozone p/n 88466 hoses.
