Dana 60 Axle shafts

This may be a stupid question but are the axle shafts the same between ford chevy and dodge on the 70s and 80 Dana 60 front axles. I know that for is opposite on drop side and reverse cut gets but will the axle shafts out of ford or dodge work in a chevy D60
thanks in advance

Re: Dana 60 Axle shafts

Most likely, no. Better answer? Maybe. There are all sorts of differences in spline count on not just the carrier (30 versus 35 spline) and the u-joint. In addition to overall length. And stub axles length versus spline count.

You will have to know the year of whichever axles you are pondering swapping and cross reference to see if any of the parts will interchange.
