Can the 66 Deluxe heater control lens be replaced?

Im looking around at deluxe heater controls and some of the faceplates with the text on them (Def, Air/Fan and Heat), are in rough shape. Can the clear plate be replaced on them? Is the text printed onto a card that sits behind it? I think its riveted on and didnt know how difficult repairing that would be?

I could not come up with anything on mine. I found the best one and polished it. I'm sure there is a better option but I don't know what it is.

Thanks for the reply, where in GA did you search for yours? I found a few on ebay ranging from $40 to $90.

Well I put the same question on the forum as u did and didn't get a response. I have a couple of factory a/c systems so I had a spare control panel. I just picked the best one and polished it. It's not perfect but installed it looks good. Where are u in ga. I'm near Madison ga

Re: Can the 66 Deluxe heater control lens be replaced?

Im in Newnan, dreaming of the day I can get this build rolling. Been in the works for years. Im painting the interior and have just enough paint left to shoot the miscellaneous parts on the dash and steering. This one got a way from me, I realized I now need that heater panel to wrap the interior painting up.

Question for you, I saw on the Vintage Air instrux that the passenger kick panel vent needs to be deleted. They supply a cover for it. Does the bar just not clear the unit under the glovebox? Hoping to keep it, refinished and re sealed it and all.

I don't think the vent handle will clear the a/c box.

Thanks! Yeah depending on what I end up with I may be grinding off the rivets as well.
