Why no numbers on the temp gauges?
Why did gm not put any temp numbers on the temp gauges like in the square bodies? Just curious if there are any readings for what the temperature is at certain spots of the gauge. Would the squares be the same as the 6772's? I'm thinking about turning one of these into a transmission temp gauge but kind of hard when you don't know where the temperature marks are.

Re: Why no numbers on the temp gauges?
No numbers means no warranty issues because someone thinks that their truck is running hot because the UNcalibrated guage is showing 210 degrees. Look at the square body guages. How accurate is it. Can you really tell the difference between 195* and 210 degrees?
There is a great write up on corvetteforums about senders and guages and their accuracy. You will have to do a search there as I have lost the link (I down loaded their PDF for myself but it is too large to post here).

Re: Why no numbers on the temp gauges?
With a 185* thermostat, mine sat right around the middle. With a 195*, it is on the right side of the operating range almost touching the line.
