Re: 5.3

Does it come with all the wiring, computers, and exhaust manifolds? If so then it would be worth the price. 350ish horsepower would be a good combo for most folks.

Re: 5.3

Go to the lsx swap section of the forum for a lot more info on this. This engine is the new direct injection set up and requires a bit more to tackle. If it is not including the trans, computer, and all the accessories, I would pass. I know that I got an exceptional deal at $2500. with an automatic 6 speed on my set up, which is the same thing as yours (L83) but that is nearly double. Mine is a 2014 and it has +/- 18k miles on it. There have been several swaps done so far and these guys said the performance is really good. Chevy rates them at 385 hp and the same on torque. Hope it helps!

Re: 5.3

The 380/416 rating is on E85. Which is sweet if you can get it.

Re: 5.3

You would need to make sure you have the Flex Fuel sensor installed in the fuel line to unlock the E85 horespower.

I had a 2014 that I don't think was flex fuel compatible. My 2017 is, but it was an option and all the trucks I looked at didn't have the option.

I only put E85 in one time and didn't really notice a difference. I also didn't know there would be a difference until I read your post. But, I'm stuck on traffic most of the time anyway.

Re: 5.3

I've seen a few of these late LT combos going for under 5k with low miles but without the tranny module or the ECU for the engine. My guess has been up til now that the reason was the cost involved getting them running with new computers/controllers.

Any further insight?

Re: 5.3

That is an LT L83/6l80, totally different animal than an LSx swap. Will cost more to put in and get running, but there is more hp and torque than an LS 5.3.

I think $4200 is high, but that is me, in my area, the same would be about $1500 less or so.

Little more mileage but...24k
