Whistle for TDC

I think I read something about a device which screws into the #1 plug hole
and it makes a whistling noise as air is being forced out of the cylinder as you
turn the crank by hand. It supposedly changes pitch the instant air stops being
pushed out of the cylinder to air being sucked into the cylinder. Such as when
you pass TDC with both valves closed. It was supposed to be very accurate.

But, I can't remember where I heard about this device. Anybody ever heard about
this thing or know where you can get it?

I seen something on them a few years back, you might try JC Whitney, they seem to have the off the wall stuff. You can always have someone bump the ignition while placing a finger or thumb over the number one. You should be able to feel the air push out and that will be top.dead.center. Good luck. Jay

Eastwood...

carries this type of TDC "finder" (Item # 46048). Purchased two years ago and have used it on 3 engine rebuilds to determine TDC when timing/tuning. Works great and will continue to use on future rebuilds and tuneups. Cost is around $23.00 (dual thread pattern of 14mm and 18mm and a 22" attached hose). Additionally, they also sell a 14mm "long reach" extension for about $5.00.
Hope this helps!
Thanks...7T1BURB
